The Coming Divine Reset of the Body of Christ

A book that predicts a coming change in the earthly expression of the church, the body of Christ

Something is happening to the structured traditional church in America. Regardless of the polls you investigate it is obvious that organized Christianity is on a rapid decline in America. The polls all show the same decline especially among the young people of our nation. Across the country and the western world church buildings are being turned into restaurants and liquor stores. Traditional church is dying before our eyes.

This website is presenting the claim that God is on the verge of a divine reset of His church, the body of Christ. It is His desire to take His church out of the hands of human control and place it firmly in the hands of the Holy Spirit. What does that mean for the church in America? That is the subject of this book and this website. Here are some changes we see coming in the near future:

* We will be led to abandon our complicated, programmed approach to church and return to the simplicity and purity described by Paul in 2 Corinthians 11:3. Our complicated way of gathering comes from our tendency to follow the world rather than God's word and the Holy Spirit.

But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ (2 Cor 11:3).

* This will entail a return to simple family-life-oriented gatherings described by Luke in Acts 2:42, 46, 47:

And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers. . . So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart,
praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.

* The priesthood of all believers will be reclaimed as each believer embraces their participation in the fellowship of the church (1 Cor 14:26f; Rev 1:6; 1 Pet 2:5).

* This will mean it will be necessary to rethink what the Bible says about a clergy system where an elite group of people do the ministry and all others are passive bystanders.

* It will require a complete return to scripture for guidance in regard to our individual lives as well as the corporate expression of the body of Christ.

* Reliance on the Holy Spirit for direction and power will return to the church. He was sent for his purpose (John 16:13).

* This is not a fearful thing but a grand opportunity for God to move in a new and living way pouring new wine into newly created wineskins (Matt 9:17). Much of the traditional church may be done with God but He is not done with the body of Christ.

* Most likely this will mean abandoning our large, expensive, elaborate buildings and finding smaller places to meet in smaller groups. The early church for centuries met in homes where there was informality, a meal, expressions of family life and sharing. Big buildings and programs do not lend themselves to closeness of fellowship, open sharing and ministry through all believers.
